EXTENSION - FOSTERING HEALING
The theme for Part Two of the Extension is Fostering Healing. These are efforts aimed at addressing the historical and current effects of racism through resistance to restore dignity to those who have been impacted by slavery, colonialism, genocide, and racism. Over the next two days, we are focusing on efforts related to Tribal Sovereignty and systems of redress for egregious injustices as examples of issues where many are working to make meaningful and innovative strides towards rectifying.
Week Four Daily Challenges
FOSTERING HEALING
The Land Back movement has existed for generations with a long legacy of organizing and sacrifice to get Indigenous Lands back into Indigenous hands. Land Back is an Indigenous-led movement with a rich and complex meaning. In the words of Isaac Murdoch, “Land Back is people returning back and finding their place in those systems of life.” Above all, it is a rallying cry for dismantling white supremacy and the harms of capitalism.
